Rollform

About

Rollform is a software package developed to help designers create product profiles and rollsets (custom rollform tooling) for rollforming machinery. Rollform models the design process, taking the user through the process step by step, allowing the user to make the required design decisions in a logical and sensible way. It handles all of the complex calculations required to validate these design decisions.

Rollform is created by designers of rollformed sections and rollforming machinery, for designers of rollformed sections and rollforming machinery. Rollform is the result of over 40 years experience in rollform section design, and has been in use in rollforming production environments since 1989.

Rollform reduces the cost of section and tooling design, by eliminating the tedious and repetitive tasks facing a design engineer and performing automatic checks on the design, which reduces design time and design errors, both of which are potentially very expensive. Rollform is user friendly and flexible for designers, while maintaining a robust design process model.

History

• 1989: Originally developed as a private software for a rollform tooling designer in New Zealand, the software ran on dos based Intel PCs.
• 1995: The software was redeveloped, both to increase the functionality, and to run under windows.
• 1997: We decided to make this package available to the public, and a substantial re-engineering process began, in order to improve the stability and robustness of the software. The software has now matured into a robust and stable product, and this version, the result of all of our efforts, is available to you today.
• 2015: We improved the registration system to make it easier to run the program.

Customisation

As a small company, we can customise the software to suit the needs of individual customers. In fact, we encourage that sort of development, as it allows us to develop features that will satisfy more of our customers, and serve their needs better.

In particular, we have designed the software to be open ended in the areas of language support and also exporting to NC machine file formats.
